Review on JPA Based ORM Data Persistence Framework

Neha Dhingra, Emad Abdelmoghith, and Hussien T. Mouftah

Abstract—Abstract— Large scale application design and development involve some critical decisions. One of the most important issue that affects software application design and development is the technology stack used to develop such large systems. System response time measures how quickly an interactive system responds to user input. Programming tools like Object Rela- tional Mapping (ORM) is used to handle the communication between object model and data model components which is vital for such systems. Currently, Hibernate is considered the most flexible ORM frameworks and has become the de facto standard for JPA-based data persistent frameworks. This article reviews the most widely used ORM providers, especially frameworks that provide support for Java Persistence API (JPA) like Hibernate JPA, EclipseLink, OpenJPA and Data Nucleus.

Index Terms—Index Terms—Hibernate, eclipselink, openjpa, data nucleus.
