Query Processing

Vandana Jindal, Anil Kumar Verma, and Seema Bawa

Abstract—‘Query’ may be defined as retrieval of meaningful information. In search, true success comes from understanding what the user is asking from their query. Mistakes most commonly made – is the failure to understand the query processing stage and the attempt to perform too many calculations across a large result set during result processing, loading the system beyond its query rate capacity, generating a backlog of queries, which creates higher query latencies and possibly disruption of services.

Index Terms—Query Processing, Query ptimization, Contextual queries
